Started by two longtime friends Aaron Schallie and Russell Smalley in 2019, the Hammer and Pen Artist Collective is a place to showcase artists’ work and gather as a community to create and discover, learn and share. 

Located in Strathcona, one of Vancouver’s oldest residential neighbourhoods and home to a beloved local arts community, our little shop is always growing to meet the needs of our clients and ever larger projects. Most of the art, however, is created in our artists’ home studios or out in the beautiful nature and urban environment that surround us.

As we launch our site and navigate the new realities of social distancing and the unraveling of a paused global economy, we will continue to update you of any changes. Our team is looking forward to once again welcoming guests to our shop and offering tutorials, workshops, hikes and sessions en plein air.
